Invitation to the Journey

A key focus of Russell Regen is to improve farmers’ quality of life and clarity of direction, which we believe can be achieved through the adoption of “Holistic Management”.

Holistic Management is a decision-making framework for balancing the ecological, financial and social needs of complex systems such as farm businesses. The first step (and at its core) is a personally crafted “Holistic Context” where we partner with you and all decision-makers and clarify your Statement of Purpose, Quality of Life statement and what the long-term future of the people and the land looks like. Once this working document is created it is then used to make decisions about what approaches to take to ensure you are “living” your Holistic Context which is done using the “Context Checks”.

Following on from creating the Holistic Context, we can then use this to create:

  • A Holistic Financial Plan, which prioritises a “profit first” approach and clarifying various enterprises’ gross profit returns

  • Holistic Land Plans, looking far into the future at what the farm will look like and working towards that in a step-wise fashion

  • Holistic Grazing Plans (if appl.), which stimulate enhanced grass growth through optimised grazing and rest/recovery periods

  • Holistic Ecological Monitoring, for monitoring the impact of management activity on the “four ecosystem processes” of water cycle, soil mineral cycle, biodiversity and energy flow (sunlight energy capture).

The founder of Russell Regen, Dr Henry Russell, is an Accredited Associate Educator in Holistic Management through the Savory Institute (the global accrediting body). In order to build experience in this area, for a limited time only, we are offering Holistic Management support at a reduced rate for a handful of farms and/or landowners.

The only thing we ask in return is that when you achieve the results you’re looking for we can tell your story here. If this sounds like something that could help your farm business, please reach out for a conversation.
